Praise of Ācāra as the Basis of Longevity, Fame, and Prosperity

न हीदृशमनायुष्यं लोके किंचन विद्यते । यादृशं पुरुषस्येह परदारोपसेवनम्‌

na hīdṛśam anāyuṣyaṁ loke kiṁcana vidyate | yādṛśaṁ puruṣasyeha paradāropasevanam ||

భీష్ముడు అన్నాడు— ఈ లోకంలో పరస్త్రీతో సంగమించుటంత ఆయుష్షును నాశనం చేయునది మరొకటి లేదు. ఇక్కడ పురుషునికి పరదారోపసేవనమే అత్యంత నిశ్చితంగా జీవనాన్ని క్షీణింపజేయు కర్మ.
