निर्यासा: सारिणश्रैव कृत्रिमाश्वैव ते त्रयः । इष्टोडनिष्टो भवेद्‌ गंधस्तन्मे विस्तरश: शूणु,धूपके मुख्यतः तीन भेद हैं--निर्यास, सारी और कृत्रिम। इन धूपोंकी गंध भी अच्छी और बुरी दो प्रकारकी होती है। ये सब बातें मुझसे विस्तारपूर्वक सुनो

śukra uvāca

niryāsāḥ sāriṇaś caiva kṛtrimāś caiva te trayaḥ |

iṣṭo ’niṣṭo bhaved gandhas tan me vistaraśaḥ śṛṇu ||

ధూపాలకు ప్రధానంగా మూడు భేదాలు—నిర్యాస, సారిణ, కృత్రిమ. వీటినుంచి వచ్చే సువాసన కూడా రెండు విధాలు—ఇష్టమైనది, అనిష్టమైనది. కాబట్టి ఇవన్నీ నన్ను విస్తారంగా విను.
