ययातेर्वानप्रस्थतपःस्वर्गारोहणम् | Yayāti’s Vānaprastha Austerities and Ascent to Heaven
ययातिरुवाच अधर्मो न स्पृशेदेष महान् मामिह भार्गव | वर्णसंकरजो ब्रद्वान्निति त्वां प्रवृणोम्पहम्,ययाति बोले--भार्गव ब्रह्मन! मैं आपसे यह वर माँगता हूँ कि इस विवाहमें यह प्रत्यक्ष दीखनेवाला वर्णसंकरजनित महान् अधर्म मेरा स्पर्श न करे
yayātir uvāca | adharmo na spṛśed eṣa mahān mām iha bhārgava | varṇasaṅkarajo brāhmaṇn iti tvāṃ pravṛṇomy aham ||
యయాతి అన్నాడు—ఓ భార్గవ బ్రాహ్మణా! ఈ వివాహంలో వర్ణసంకరమునుండి పుట్టే ఈ మహా అధర్మం నన్ను తాకకూడదు—ఇదే నేను మీ వద్ద కోరే వరం.
