Duḥṣanta–Śakuntalā: Gandharva Marriage and Succession Condition
श्रियस्तु भाग: संजज्ञे रत्यर्थ पृथिवीतले । भीष्मकस्य कुले साध्वी रुक्मिणी नाम नामत:,नारायणस्वरूप भगवान् श्रीकृष्णको आनन्द प्रदान करनेके लिये भूतलपर विदर्भराज भीष्मकके कुलमें सती-साध्वी रुक्मिणीदेवीके नामसे लक्ष्मीजीका ही अंश प्रकट हुआ था
śriyastu bhāgaḥ saṃjajñe ratyarthaṃ pṛthivītale | bhīṣmakasya kule sādhvī rukmiṇī nāma nāmataḥ ||
వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—భూతలంపై లోకానందార్థం శ్రీ (లక్ష్మీ) యొక్క ఒక అంసము జన్మించింది; అది విదర్భరాజు భీష్మకుని వంశంలో సతీ-సాధ్వీ రుక్మిణీ అనే నామంతో ప్రదర్శితమైంది.
