Duḥṣanta–Śakuntalā: Gandharva Marriage and Succession Condition

नरनारायणाभ्यां तु स संग्रामो विना कृत: । चक्रव्यूहं समास्थाय योधयिष्यन्ति व: सुरा:,“देवताओ! एक दिन जब कि उस युद्धमें नर और नारायण (अर्जुन और श्रीकृष्ण) उपस्थित न रहेंगे, उस समय शत्रुपक्षके लोग चक्रव्यूहकी रचना करके आप-लोगोंके साथ युद्ध करेंगे। उस युद्धमें मेरा यह पुत्र समस्त शत्रु-सैनिकोंको युद्धसे मार भगायेगा और बालक होनेपर भी उस अभेद्य व्यूहमें घुसकर निर्भय विचरण करेगा

naranārāyaṇābhyāṃ tu sa saṃgrāmo vinā kṛtaḥ | cakravyūhaṃ samāsthāya yodhayiṣyanti vaḥ surāḥ ||

దేవతలారా! నర-నారాయణులు లేనప్పటికీ ఆ సంగ్రామం జరుగుతుంది. శత్రుపక్షం చక్రవ్యూహాన్ని ఏర్పాటు చేసి మీతో యుద్ధం చేస్తుంది.
