Śakuntalā-Janma-Nāmakaraṇa (Birth and Naming of Śakuntalā) | शकुन्तला-जन्म-नामकरणम्

तयोरेव स्वसा देवी लक्ष्मी: पद्मगृहा शुभा । तस्यास्तु मानसा: पुत्रास्तुरगा व्योमचारिण:,कमलोंमें निवास करनेवाली शुभस्वरूपा लक्ष्मीदेवी उन दोनोंकी बहिन हैं। आकाशमें विचरनेवाले अश्व लक्ष्मीदेवीके मानस पुत्र हैं। राजन! वरुणके बीजसे उनकी ज्येष्ठ पत्नी देवीने एक पुत्र और एक पुत्रीको जन्म दिया। उसके पुत्रको तो बल और देवनन्दिनी पुत्रीको सुरा समझो

tayor eva svasā devī lakṣmīḥ padmagṛhā śubhā | tasyās tu mānasāḥ putrās turaṅgā vyomacāriṇaḥ ||

వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—ఆ ఇద్దరికీ సహోదరి శుభస్వరూపిణి, పద్మనివాసిని అయిన దేవి లక్ష్మి. ఆమె మనసునుండి జన్మించిన పుత్రులు ఆకాశములో సంచరించే దివ్యాశ్వములు.
