स॒ एवमुक्त उपाध्यायेनेष्टं देश जगाम । अथापर: शिष्यस्तस्यैवायोदस्य धौम्यस्योपमन्युर्नाम,उपाध्यायके इस प्रकार आशीर्वाद देनेपर आरुणि कृतकृत्य हो अपने अभीष्ट देशको चला गया। उन्हीं आयोदधौम्य उपाध्यायका उपमन्यु नामक दूसरा शिष्य था
sa evam ukta upādhyāyenaiṣṭaṃ deśaṃ jagāma | athāparaḥ śiṣyas tasyaivāyodasya dhaumyasyopamanyur nāma |
ఉపాధ్యాయుడు ఈ విధంగా పలికి ఆశీర్వదించగా, ఆరుణి కృతకృత్యుడై తనకు ఇష్టమైన దేశానికి వెళ్లిపోయాడు. ఆపై అదే అయోద-ధౌమ్య ఉపాధ్యాయుని మరొక శిష్యుని కథ మొదలవుతుంది—అతని పేరు ఉపమన్యు.
