पुंनाम्नो नरकात् पुत्रस्त्रायते पितरं श्रुति: । तस्मादपत्यसंताने यतस्व ब्रह्मसत्तम,श्रुतिका कथन है कि पुत्र 'पुत' नामक नरकसे पिताका उद्धार करता है। अतः विप्रवर! आप अपनी वंशपरम्पराको अविच्छिन्न बनानेका प्रयत्न कीजिये
puṁnāmno narakāt putras trāyate pitaraṁ śrutiḥ | tasmād apatyasaṁtāne yatasva brahmasattama ||
శ్రుతి ప్రకారం ‘పుం’ అనే నరకం నుండి కుమారుడు తండ్రిని రక్షిస్తాడు. కనుక, ఓ బ్రాహ్మణోత్తమా, సంతానసంతతిని నిలిపేందుకు యత్నించుము.
