Khāṇḍava Prelude
क्व नु नाम वयं सर्वा: कालेनाल्पेन तं नरम् | समागच्छेम यो नस्तद् रूपमापादयेत् पुनः,वर्गा कहती है--भारत! तदनन्तर उन ब्राह्मणको प्रणाम और उनकी प्रदक्षिणा करके अत्यन्त दुःखी हो हम सब उस स्थानसे अन्यत्र चली आयीं और इस चिन्तामें पड़ गयीं कि कहाँ जाकर हम सब लोग रहें, जिससे थोड़े ही समयमें हमें वह मनुष्य मिल जाय, जो हमें पुनः हमारे पूर्व स्वरूपकी प्राप्ति करायेगा
kva nu nāma vayaṁ sarvāḥ kālenālpena taṁ naram | samāgacchema yo nas tad rūpam āpādayet punaḥ ||
బ్రాహ్మణ స్త్రీలు అన్నారు—మేమందరం ఎక్కడికి వెళ్లాలి, అతి కొద్ది కాలంలోనే మా పూర్వరూపాన్ని మళ్లీ ప్రసాదించగల ఆ పురుషుణ్ని కలుసుకునేలా?
