कर्णस्य मन्त्रः — Duryodhana-प्रति नीति-विचारः
Karna’s Counsel on Strategy toward the Pāṇḍavas
वैशम्पायन उवाच ततः स द्रुपदो राजा हर्षव्याकुललोचन: । प्रतिवक्तुं मुदा युक्तो नाशकत् तं॑ युधिषछ्िरम्,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! राजा युधिष्ठिरकी ये बातें सुनकर महाराज ट्रुपदकी आँखोंमें हर्षके आँसू छलक आये। वे आनन्दमें मग्न हो गये और (गला भर आनेके कारण) उन युधिष्ठिरको तत्काल (कुछ) उत्तर न दे सके
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: tataḥ sa drupado rājā harṣavyākulalocanaḥ | prativaktuṁ mudā yukto nāśakat taṁ yudhiṣṭhiram ||
వైశంపాయనుడు అన్నాడు—అప్పుడు ద్రుపద రాజు ఆనందంతో కళ్లలో కన్నీళ్లు పొంగి, హర్షావేశంతో కంపించాడు. సంతోషంగా ప్రత్యుత్తరం ఇవ్వాలని తపించాడు గాని, భావోద్వేగంతో వెంటనే యుధిష్ఠిరునికి సమాధానం చెప్పలేకపోయాడు.
