The Ritual Formalization of Draupadī’s Marriage
साधर्मभीता परिचिन्तयन्ती तां याज्ञसेनीं परमप्रतीताम् । पाणौ गृहीत्वोपजगाम कुन्ती युधिष्ठिरं वाक्यमुवाच चेदम्,कुन्तीदेवी अधर्मके भयसे बड़ी चिन्तामें पड़ गयीं; (परंतु मनोनुकूल पतिकी प्राप्तिसे) द्रौपदीके मनमें बड़ी प्रसन्नता थी। कुन्तीदेवी द्रौपदीका हाथ पकड़कर युधिष्ठिरके पास गयीं और उनसे उन्होंने यह बात कही--
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
sādharmabhītā paricintayantī tāṃ yājñasenīṃ paramapratītām |
pāṇau gṛhītvopajagāma kuntī yudhiṣṭhiraṃ vākyam uvāca cedam ||
వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—అధర్మం జరుగుతుందేమో అన్న భయంతో కుంతీదేవి ఆలోచనలో మునిగెను. పరమానందంతో ఉన్న యాజ్ఞసేనీ (ద్రౌపది) చేతిని పట్టుకొని ఆమె యుధిష్ఠిరుని వద్దకు వెళ్లి ఈ మాటలు పలికెను.
