Educational Q&A

As a colophon, the line does not teach through direct instruction; it frames the preceding material as a unit about weapon-skill. In the Mahābhārata’s ethical horizon, such prowess is significant only when restrained and directed by dharma—otherwise it becomes a cause of ruin.

The narrator marks the completion of a chapter in the Sambhava Parva (within the Ādi Parva) whose subject is the demonstration of proficiency in weapons, indicating a transition point in the text’s organization.
