वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse is primarily a catalog of renowned celestial women (apsarases) rather than a direct moral injunction; its implicit emphasis is on recognizing established qualities (guṇa) and fame within the epic’s cosmic and genealogical framework.
Vaiśampāyana continues a list of named celestial women, adding several more figures in sequence; the passage functions as part of a broader descriptive enumeration within Adi Parva.
