श्रुत्वैतत् प्राह विघ्नेशो यदि मे लेखनी क्षणम् | लिखितो नावतिषछ्ेत तदा स्यां लेखको हाहम्,यह सुनकर विघ्नराज श्रीगणेशजीने कहा--“व्यासजी! यदि लिखते समय क्षणभरके लिये भी मेरी लेखनी न रुके तो मैं इस ग्रन्थका लेखक बन सकता हूँ
śrutvaitat prāha vighneśo yadi me lekhanī kṣaṇam | likhito nāvatiṣṭhet tadā syāṁ lekhako hy aham ||
ఇది విని విఘ్నేశుడు పలికాడు—“వ్రాస్తున్నప్పుడు నా లేఖని క్షణమాత్రమైనా ఆగకూడదు; అలా ఉంటేనే నేను ఈ గ్రంథానికి లేఖకుడనవుతాను.” ఈ నిబంధన మహాకార్యపు గంభీరతను సూచిస్తుంది—అఖండ ప్రవాహంతో ప్రసారం కావాలంటే కర్త యొక్క స్పష్టత, లేఖకుని నిరంతర ఏకాగ్రత రెండూ అవసరం.
