Suta Goswami (narrating Shiva’s teaching on Pranava)
It grounds Linga-upasana in the subtle form of Shiva as Pranava (Oṁ), teaching that the worship of the Linga is supported by mantra—specifically the ordered contemplation of A-U-M as Shiva’s sonic presence.
Shiva is indicated as Pati who pervades and owns the Pranava; A-U-M are not merely phonemes but the ordered manifestation of His consciousness as sound (nāda), through which the pashu can move beyond pāśa.
Pranava-japa and dhyāna: reciting and meditating on Oṁ in its sequence (A→U→M), internalizing the Linga as nāda-bindu and aligning the practitioner with Pashupata-style inward worship.
