Adhyaya 70: आदिसर्गः—महत्-अहङ्कार-तन्मात्रा-भूतसृष्टिः, ब्रह्माण्डावरणम्, प्रजासर्गः, त्रिमूर्ति-शैवाधिष्ठानम्
ते परिग्राहिणः सर्वे संविभागरताः पुनः स्वादनाश् चाप्यशीलाश् च ज्ञेया भूतादिकाश् च ते
te parigrāhiṇaḥ sarve saṃvibhāgaratāḥ punaḥ svādanāś cāpyaśīlāś ca jñeyā bhūtādikāś ca te
వారందరూ పరిగ్రహులు; మళ్లీ విభజన‑పంచకంలో ఆసక్తులు. రుచిసుఖాసక్తులు, శీలహీనులు—వారిని భూతాది (తామస) వర్గమని తెలుసుకొనుము.
