Suta Goswami
This verse preserves the royal lineage (vaṁśa) through which Purāṇic dharma—including Śiva-bhakti and Linga-centered traditions—are transmitted and protected across generations.
Indirectly: by affirming orderly succession and fame rooted in dharma, it reflects Śiva as Pati—the sustaining Lord who upholds cosmic order (ṛta/dharma) through righteous rulers and lineages.
No specific pūjā-vidhi or Pāśupata-yoga practice is stated; the verse functions as a genealogical link that frames later teachings on Śiva-pūjā and liberation of the paśu (bound soul) by the grace of Pati.
