FAQs

This verse states that such offerings generate tṛpti (satisfaction) even for beings who have fallen into taru-bhāva (tree existence), showing the ritual’s reach across difficult rebirth states.

It implies that some departed beings attain a tree-state, and that properly made offerings (including perfumed water) can still provide them relief and satisfaction, indicating continuity of karmic experience across births.

When performing śrāddha/tarpaṇa, offer water with reverence and purity, remembering that compassionate ritual intent is taught to benefit the departed regardless of their current form of existence.
