Concept: Order arises from correct sequencing (krama) and measured repetition; the thread (sūtra) as the principle that connects points into form.

Vedantic Theme: Sūtra as connective principle—many forms from one guiding line; disciplined method as a support for contemplative focus.

Application: Count and mark the intervening divisions; anchor the thread at specified hubs and wind it in due order to maintain symmetry and proportion.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Type: mandala/yantra interior (intervening spaces)

Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.8.4 (central meeting as nābhi); Garuda Purana 1.8.6 (rotation measure); Garuda Purana 1.8.7-1.8.8 (stamens/petals/lotus completion)

FAQs

This verse emphasizes precision in dharmic procedure—correct sequencing and placement (hubs/intervals) are treated as integral to the efficacy and purity of the rite being described.

While this verse is primarily technical and procedural, the Garuda Purana often links correct ritual performance to orderly dharma—supporting auspicious outcomes in transitional rites connected with the departed.

Follow authentic guidance and trained instruction for any traditional rite: accuracy, order, and attentiveness are part of the discipline of dharma, not merely external details.
