ca navidhirnāma dvātriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ rudra uvāca / sudarśanasya pūjāṃ me vada śaṅkhagadādhara / graharogādikaṃ sarvaṃ yatkṛtvā nāśameti vai
Rudra (addressing Lord Vishnu, the bearer of conch and mace)
Concept: Sudarśana worship as a divine remedy that destroys planetary afflictions and diseases.
Vedantic Theme: Īśvara-anugraha as the ultimate remover of duḥkha; divine śakti (chakra) as protective manifestation of Narayana.
Application: Adopt Sudarśana-upāsanā as a disciplined devotional practice when facing fear, illness, or perceived astrological adversity, alongside ethical living.
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Type: dialogue setting (Rudra addressing Vishnu)
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.33.2-4 (procedure: snāna, pūjā, mantra, dhyāna)
This verse frames Sudarśana-pūjā as a potent remedial rite, specifically praised for destroying afflictions such as planetary troubles and diseases.
It does not directly describe the soul’s post-death journey; instead, it introduces a protective, this-life ritual practice (Sudarśana worship) aimed at removing obstacles and suffering.
Use the verse as a scriptural basis for disciplined devotional practice—seeking clarity, protection, and health through Sudarśana-oriented worship and ethical living rather than fear of afflictions.
