ayaṃ bhagavato mantro mantrāṇāṃ paramo mahān / vikhyātaṃ kavacaṃ guhyaṃ sarpapāpapraṇāśanam / svamāyākṛtinirmāṇaṃ kalpāntagahanaṃ mahat

ఇది భగవంతుని మంత్రం—మంత్రాలన్నిటిలో పరమమైన మహామంత్రం. ఇది ప్రసిద్ధమైన గుహ్య కవచం; సర్పసంబంధ పాపాలను నశింపజేస్తుంది. ప్రభువు స్వమాయాశక్తితో నిర్మితమైన ఇది, కల్పాంతంలా అతి గంభీరమైన మహా రహస్యం.
