FAQs

This verse states that merit is truly ‘partaken of’ through proper dharmic conduct, and therefore honoring the righteous dvija is presented as an established principle to uphold dharma and accrue spiritual benefit.

Indirectly, it emphasizes that one’s post-death welfare is shaped by dharmic actions that generate merit; honoring worthy recipients (like a sat-dvija) is framed as a reliable means of securing beneficial karmic results.

Support and honor genuinely learned and ethical spiritual teachers, practice respectful giving (dāna) with discernment, and treat dharma-based service as a serious, careful discipline rather than a casual ritual.
