It codifies dharmic boundaries: certain relations are to be regarded with the same protective respect as one’s own close kin, reinforcing restraint and social-ethical order.

In the Ācāra Kāṇḍa, Viṣṇu outlines right conduct; this verse supports brahmacarya-like restraint and respectful behavior within family and guru-related relationships.

Maintain clear ethical boundaries and respectful conduct with extended family and a teacher’s household; treat such relationships as protected kinship, avoiding exploitation or impropriety.
