Mārkaṇḍeya Ṛṣi Meets Lord Śiva: Devotee as Living Tīrtha and the Lord’s Māyā
sūta uvāca sa evam anubhūyedaṁ nārāyaṇa-vinirmitam vaibhavaṁ yoga-māyāyās tam eva śaraṇaṁ yayau
This verse emphasizes that when one realizes everything as arranged by Nārāyaṇa through His Yogamāyā, the proper response is exclusive surrender—taking refuge in Him alone.
Sūta points out that the world’s astonishing workings are not random; they are the Lord’s vaibhava—His wondrous potency—acting as Yogamāyā, which leads the wise to surrender rather than become bewildered.
See life’s changes as ultimately under the Lord’s arrangement, reduce anxiety-driven control, and consciously choose devotional refuge—prayer, remembrance, and service—rather than dependence solely on temporary supports.
