FAQs

This verse describes the divine, supernatural removal of the newborn—an event that intensifies the brāhmaṇa’s anguish and sets the stage for Kṛṣṇa’s later intervention, revealing the Lord’s higher arrangement beyond ordinary cause and effect.

Śukadeva Gosvāmī narrates these events to King Parīkṣit as part of the account of Kṛṣṇa’s pastimes in Dvārakā and the brāhmaṇa’s repeated bereavement.

The verse highlights how life’s sudden losses can occur beyond human control, urging devotees to seek shelter in Bhagavān, deepen faith, and look for the Lord’s purpose rather than collapsing into despair.
