दुहन्त्योऽभिययु: काश्चिद् दोहं हित्वा समुत्सुका: । पयोऽधिश्रित्य संयावमनुद्वास्यापरा ययु: ॥ ५ ॥
duhantyo ’bhiyayuḥ kāścid dohaṁ hitvā samutsukāḥ payo ’dhiśritya saṁyāvam anudvāsyāparā yayuḥ
కొంతమంది గోపికలు ఆవులను పాలు దోస్తుండగా, కృష్ణుని వంశీధ్వని విన్న వెంటనే ఉత్సాహంతో దోసడం వదిలి వెళ్లిపోయారు. మరికొందరు పొయ్యిపై పాలు మరిగిస్తూ లేదా వంటకాలు కాల్చుతూ ఉంచి, అవన్నీ అలాగే వదిలి కృష్ణుని దర్శనానికి బయలుదేరారు।
