Transliteration

etat kalpa-vikalpasya pramāṇaṁ parikīrtitam yatra manvantarāṇy āhuś caturdaśa purāvidaḥ

Translation

ఓ రాజా, ఒక కల్పము అనగా బ్రహ్మదేవుని ఒక దినములో ‘వికల్ప’ములని పిలువబడే అనేక మార్పులు జరుగుతాయి; వాటి ప్రమాణమును నేను ముందే వివరించితిని. పురాణవిదులు బ్రహ్మదినములో పద్నాలుగు మన్వంతరములు ఉంటాయని నిర్ణయించారు.
