Indra Slays Namuci—The Limits of Power and the Triumph of Divine Strategy

मयास्मै यद् वरो दत्तो मृत्युर्नैवार्द्रशुष्कयो: । अतोऽन्यश्चिन्तनीयस्ते उपायो मघवन् रिपो: ॥ ३८ ॥

mayāsmai yad varo datto mṛtyur naivārdra-śuṣkayoḥ ato ’nyaś cintanīyas te upāyo maghavan ripoḥ

ఆ వాణి మరల పలికింది—“ఓ మఘవన్ ఇంద్రా! నేను ఈ దానవునికి ఎండినదానితో గానీ తడిసినదానితో గానీ మరణం కలగదని వరమిచ్చాను; కాబట్టి శత్రువును సంహరించుటకు మరో ఉపాయాన్ని ఆలోచించు.”
