Vishwarupa Darshana Yoga — Vishwarupa Darshana Yoga
arjuna uvāca | mad-anugrahāya paramaṁ guhyam adhyātma-saṁjñitam yat tvayoktaṁ vacas tena moho 'yaṁ vigato mama || 11.1 ||
Arjuna said: By the supreme secret teaching called ‘concerning the self’ that you have spoken for my benefit, this delusion of mine has departed.
Minor punctuation/spacing differences occur across printings. The interpretive focus is on ‘adhyātma-saṁjñitam’—either as a technical label (‘pertaining to the self’) or as a broader spiritual doctrine.
Arjuna reports reduced confusion—an example of how coherent guidance and reflection can alleviate indecision and cognitive dissonance.
The ‘secret’ is framed as adhyātma: insight into self and ultimate reality, presented as capable of dissolving fundamental misapprehension.
This verse opens chapter 11 and marks a narrative shift: Arjuna acknowledges the prior teaching and prepares to request a direct experiential confirmation.
It highlights the value of integrative frameworks (ethical and contemplative) for reducing confusion in high-stakes decisions.
