Defining ‘Nagna’ and the Devas’ Hymn Leading to Māyāmoha
sakalam idam ajasya yasya rūpaṃ paramapadātmavataḥ sanātanasya tam anidhanam aśeṣabījabhūtaṃ prabhum amalaṃ praṇatāḥ sma vāsudevam
Sage Parāśara (teaching Maitreya; voiced as a hymnic salutation within the discourse)
It presents Vishnu as the ultimate causal ground: all beings and elements arise from him as their source, while he remains transcendent and imperishable.
By stating “sakalaṃ idam… yasya rūpam,” Parāśara identifies the entire cosmos as a manifestation of Vishnu, expressing divine immanence without denying his supremacy beyond the world.
Vasudeva is affirmed as the eternal, stainless Supreme Lord—unborn, endless, and the Self of the highest abode—central to Vaishnava metaphysics and later Vishishtadvaita/Dvaita readings.
