Cosmic Appointments, Viṣṇu’s Vibhūtis, Fourfold Operation, and the Symbolism of Ornaments and Weapons

Sage Parāśara (addressing Maitreya as ‘dvija’ in the teaching frame)
It marks a textual transition and asserts that hearing this first section of the Purāṇa functions as spiritual purification, freeing the listener from sins.
He closes the first portion by stating he has narrated it “in proper order,” reinforcing the teacher–disciple transmission and the Purāṇa’s organized structure.
Though Vishnu is not named in the line, the claim of sin-destruction through hearing this Purāṇa reflects the Vaishnava view that sacred narrative centered on Vishnu’s supremacy purifies and elevates the soul.
