इत्युक्ताः शङ्करः क्रुद्धो वदनं घोरचक्षुषा निर्दग्धुकामस्त्वनिशं ददर्श भगवानजः
ityuktāḥ śaṅkaraḥ kruddho vadanaṃ ghoracakṣuṣā nirdagdhukāmastvaniśaṃ dadarśa bhagavānajaḥ
இவ்வாறு உரைக்கப்பட்டதும் சங்கரன் கோபமுற்றார்; பயங்கரக் கண்களுடன் முகத்தைத் திருப்பி, அனைத்தையும் எரிக்க விரும்பினார். இதற்கிடையில் பகவான் அஜன் (அஜன்மன்) இடையறாது கவனித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார்।
