अतिकायवधः
The Slaying of Atikāya
ततोतिकायोबलवान्प्रविश्यहरिवाहिनीम् ।विष्फारयामासधनुर्ननाद च पुनःपुनः ।।।।
tato 'tikāyo balavān praviśya harivāhinīm | viṣphārayāmāsa dhanur nanāda ca punaḥpunaḥ ||
பின்னர் வலிமைமிக்க அதிகாயன் வானரப் படையில் புகுந்தான்; வில்லைக் கிண்கிணத்தச் செய்து, மீண்டும் மீண்டும் கர்ஜித்தான்॥
Thereafter, mighty Atikaya entered the monkey army, twanged his bow again and again and made a loud noise.
The verse contrasts intimidation with righteousness: dhārmic warriors must not be shaken by noise and display, but remain steady in truth and duty.
Atikāya begins active assault, entering the vānara formation and signaling aggression through bow-twang and repeated roaring.
Steadfastness under threat—implied as the needed virtue for those facing intimidation.
