सूर्यानुगमनवृत्तान्तः
The Account of Following the Sun
आशङ्के तं निपतितं जनस्थाने जटायुषम्।अहं तु पतितो विन्ध्ये दग्धपक्षो जडीकृतः।।।।
āśaṅke taṃ nipatitaṃ janasthāne jaṭāyuṣam | ahaṃ tu patito vindhye dagdhapakṣo jaḍīkṛtaḥ ||
ஜனஸ்தானத்தில் ஜடாயு வீழ்ந்தான் என நான் எண்ணுகிறேன்; ஆனால் நான் விந்த்ய மலைமேல் வீழ்ந்தேன்—என் இறக்கைகள் எரிந்தன; உடல் மயக்கமுற்று ஜடமாயிற்று।
'O revered sage! I am exhausted and my senses are depressed. I am ashamed of myself. My body is wounded. Therefore I am not able to reply.
Truthful accounting of consequences: actions driven by pride lead to real, lasting suffering—dharma requires learning and restraint afterward.
