वालिनः और्ध्वदैहिकम्
Vali’s Funeral Rites and the Consolation of the Bereaved
ततोऽग्निं विधिवद्दत्त्वा सोऽपसव्यं चकार ह।पितरं दीर्घमध्वानं प्रस्थितं व्याकुलेन्द्रियः4.25.49।।
tato 'gniṁ vidhivad dattvā so 'pasavyaṁ cakāra ha |
pitaraṁ dīrgham adhvānaṁ prasthitaṁ vyākulendriyaḥ || 4.25.49 ||
பின்பு அவர் விதிப்படி அக்னியில் ஆஹுதி செய்து, சிதையை இடப்புறமாக வைத்துக் கொண்டு அபசவ்யமாகச் சுற்றினார். நீண்ட பயணத்திற்கு புறப்பட்ட தந்தையை நினைப்பதுபோல், அவரது இந்திரியங்கள் கலங்கி மனம் துயருற்றது।
