Transliteration

vākyam apratikūlaṃ tu mṛdupūrvaṃ hitaṃ śubham |

upacāreṇa yuktaṃ ca vaktavyo vasudhādhipaḥ ||

Translation

பூமியின் அதிபதியிடம் பேசும்போது எதிர்மறையற்ற சொற்களையே கூற வேண்டும்—மென்மையுடன், நலன் நாடி, மங்கலமாக—உரிய மரியாதை முறையோடு அமைந்து॥
