FAQs

“Śūladhṛk” means “the bearer of the trident,” a standard epithet of Lord Śiva, indicating the verse is a praise addressed to Śiva.

It summarizes totality: all that is mobile (living beings) and immobile (mountains, trees, worlds, elements). The verse presents divinity as the cause encompassing the entire manifested cosmos.

It frames Śiva as the ultimate refuge/goal (gati) for all beings—even gods and demons—and credits him with cosmic creation of the three worlds, reflecting a devotional stuti that elevates Śiva’s supreme agency.
