Yoga-Sleep, Cosmic Dissolution, and the Lotus of Creation
with Mārkaṇḍeya’s Vision
तस्य तावच्छती संध्या द्विगुणा कुरुनंदन । यत्र धर्मश्चतुष्पादस्त्वधर्मः पादविग्रहः
tasya tāvacchatī saṃdhyā dviguṇā kurunaṃdana | yatra dharmaścatuṣpādastvadharmaḥ pādavigrahaḥ
குருநந்தனே, அந்த யுகத்தின் சந்த்யாகாலம் அவ்வளவு நூற்றாண்டுகள் நீடித்து அதன் காலம் இரட்டிப்பாகும்; அங்கே தர்மம் நான்கு பாதங்களுடன் உறுதியாக நிற்க, அதர்மம் பாதத்தின் சிறு அங்கமாக மட்டுமே சுருங்கும்।
Pulastya (to Bhīṣma)
Concept: In the Kṛta age, Dharma is complete (four-footed) and Adharma is minimal; moral order is structurally embedded in time-cycles.
Application: Treat dharma as something to be made ‘four-footed’ in one’s life: strengthen truthfulness, compassion, purity, and self-restraint; reduce adharma to a ‘fraction’ by daily vigilance.
