gayāśirasi yaḥ piṃḍaṃ śamīpatrapramāṇataḥ | kaṃdamūlaphalādyairvā dadyātsvargaṃ nayetpitṝn || 48 ||

கயாசிரஸில் சமீ இலை அளவான பிண்டத்தை—அல்லது கிழங்கு, வேர், பழம் முதலியவற்றினாலும்—சிரத்தையுடன் அர்ப்பணிப்பவன் தன் பித்ருக்களை ஸ்வர்கலோகத்திற்கு அழைத்துச் செல்கிறான்।
