त्वामेव शरणं प्राप्ता पितुर्वचनगौरवात् । तद्भवान्प्रणताया मे गंगामाहात्म्यंसंयुतम् । देवताराधनं ब्रूहि यच्छ्रुत्वा मुच्यते ह्यघात् ॥ ५ ॥
tvāmeva śaraṇaṃ prāptā piturvacanagauravāt | tadbhavānpraṇatāyā me gaṃgāmāhātmyaṃsaṃyutam | devatārādhanaṃ brūhi yacchrutvā mucyate hyaghāt || 5 ||
தந்தையின் சொல்லை மதித்து நான் உம்மையே சரணடைந்தேன். ஆகவே, வணங்கும் எனக்கு, கங்கையின் மஹாத்மியத்துடன் கூடிய தேவாராதனை முறையை அருளிச் சொல்லுங்கள்; அதை கேட்டால் பாவத்திலிருந்து விடுதலை பெறுவர்.
