Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: vira
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches dharmic discernment: one should know both the state’s resources and the people’s condition, and gather only the “essence” (rasavat) in a non-harmful, wise manner—like a bee taking nectar without destroying the flower.
Though framed as counsel in conduct, it mirrors bhakti-sādhana: a devotee, like a bee, seeks the essence of sacred teachings and practices—choosing what nourishes devotion and welfare rather than mere outer show.
It emphasizes applied niti and discernment rather than a specific Vedanga; practically, it aligns with disciplined evaluation and proper use of resources—an administrative counterpart to methodical learning found in śāstra study.
