तेन तीर्थ कृतं पुण्यं स्वेन नाम्ना च विश्रुतम् । तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन् धर्मशील: समाहितः
tena tīrthaṃ kṛtaṃ puṇyaṃ svena nāmnā ca viśrutam | tatra snātvā naro rājan dharmaśīlaḥ samāhitaḥ ||
அவரால் அங்கே ஒரு புனித தீர்த்தம் நிறுவப்பட்டது; அது அவருடைய பெயராலேயே புகழ்பெற்றது. அரசே! அங்கே நீராடும் மனிதன் தர்மநிஷ்டையுடன், ஒருமித்த மனத்துடன் இருப்பான்.
घुलस्त्य उवाच
The verse links outer ritual (bathing at a tīrtha) with inner ethics: true benefit is framed as becoming dharma-minded and mentally composed, not merely performing an act.
The speaker describes a particular holy place founded by a revered figure and famous by his name, then states the spiritual-ethical effect for a person who bathes there—especially one devoted to dharma and mental steadiness.
