राजापि च स्मयन्‌ भीमो मनसा समचिन्तयन्‌ । अधिकं योजनशतं तस्यागमनकारणम्‌,यह सुनकर राजा भीम भी मुसकरा दिये और मन-ही-मन सोचने लगे--'ये बहुत-से गाँवोंको लाँधकर सौ योजनसे भी अधिक दूर चले आये हैं, किंतु कार्य इन्होंने बहुत साधारण बतलाया है। फिर इनके आगमनका क्‍या कारण है, इसे मैं ठीक-ठीक न जान सका

Transliteration

rājāpi ca smayan bhīmo manasā samacintayan | adhikaṃ yojanaśataṃ tasyāgamanakāraṇam ||

Translation

பிருகதச்வர் கூறினார்—இதைக் கேட்ட அரசன் பீமன் புன்னகைத்து மனத்தில் சிந்தித்தான்—“இவர்கள் பல கிராமங்களைத் தாண்டி நூறு யோஜனத்திற்கும் மேலான தூரம் வந்துள்ளனர்; ஆனால் தங்கள் காரியத்தை மிகச் சாதாரணமெனச் சொல்கிறார்கள். அப்படியெனில் இவர்களின் வருகையின் உண்மைக் காரணம் என்ன? எனக்கு தெளிவாகப் புலப்படவில்லை.”
