त्वं हि देवेश्वर: साक्षात् त्वया देयो वरो मम । अन््येषां चैव भूतानामी श्वरो हासि भूतकृत्,आप साक्षात् देवेश्वर हैं। उचित तो यही है कि आप मुझे वर दें; क्योंकि आप अन्य सब भूतोंके ईश्वर तथा उन्हें उत्पन्न करनेवाले हैं
tvaṃ hi deveśvaraḥ sākṣāt tvayā deyo varo mama | anyeṣāṃ caiva bhūtānām īśvaro hāsi bhūtakṛt ||
வைசம்பாயனர் கூறினார்— “நீங்கள் வெளிப்படையான தேவேசர்; ஆகவே எனக்கு வரம் அளிக்க வேண்டியது உங்களே. ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் எல்லா உயிர்களுக்கும் ஈசன்; அவற்றை உண்டாக்கிய படைப்பாளியும் நீங்களே.”
