रावण–मारीचसंवादः तथा मृगप्रलोभनपूर्वकं सीताहरणोपक्रमः

यत्र गत्वा न शोचन्ति न व्यथन्ति चलन्ति वा । तदहं स्थानमत्यन्तं मार्गयिष्यामि केवलम्‌,“जहाँ जाकर मनुष्य कभी शोक नहीं करते, व्यथित नहीं होते तथा जहाँसे विचलित नहीं होते हैं। केवल उसी अक्षय धामका मैं अनुसंधान करूँगा”

yatra gatvā na śocanti na vyathanti calanti vā | tad ahaṃ sthānam atyantaṃ mārgayiṣyāmi kevalam ||

எங்கு சென்றபின் துயரமும் இல்லை, துன்பமும் இல்லை, அங்கிருந்து அசைவும் இல்லை—அந்த பரம நிலையையே நான் ஒருமுகமாகத் தேடுவேன்.
