Educational Q&A

The verse frames an ethical contrast: true authority rests on dharma and self-restraint (embodied by Yudhiṣṭhira), while worldly arrogance is vulnerable when confronted by higher forces and moral order.

Duryodhana narrates that the Gandharvas, in the company of the Pāṇḍavas, approach Yudhiṣṭhira—introducing a direct interaction between celestial beings and the exiled brothers, setting up the next action or speech.
