निवसन्ति वने ये तु तस्मिंश्वैत्ररथे जना: । तेडब्रुवन्नेष नोडनर्थ: पावकेनाहितो महान्
nivasanti vane ye tu tasmiñ śvaitrarathe janāḥ | teḍ abruvann eṣa no 'narthaḥ pāvakena āhito mahān ||
மார்க்கண்டேயர் கூறினார்—அந்த ஸ்வைத்ரரத வனத்தில் வாழ்ந்தவர்கள் கூறினர்—‘இது எங்களுக்குப் பெரும் அனர்த்தம்; அக்னியால் இது ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டது.’
