दर्श च पौर्णमासं च यस्य तिछेत्‌ प्रतिष्ठितम्‌ । इष्टिरष्टाकपालेन कार्या पथिकृतेडग्नये

Transliteration

darśaṁ ca paurṇamāsaṁ ca yasya tiṣṭhet pratiṣṭhitam | iṣṭir aṣṭākapālena kāryā pathikṛte 'gnaye ||

Translation

மார்கண்டேயர் கூறினார்—அமாவாசை (தர்ச) மற்றும் பௌர்ணமி யாகங்களை விதிப்படி நிறுவியவர்க்கு, மண்ணால் செய்யப்பட்ட எட்டு கபாலங்களில் சமைத்த ஹவிஸைத் தயாரித்து ‘பதிக்ருத்’ எனப்படும் அக்னிக்காக இஷ்டி செய்ய வேண்டும்.
