बहुदुःखपरिवलेशं मानुष्यमिह दृश्यते । लोकमें यह विपरीत अवस्था बहुत अधिक दिखायी देती है। ज्ञानहीन मूढ़ मनुष्य तो मौज करते हैं और श्रेष्ठ ज्ञानी मनुष्य क्लेश भोग रहे हैं। यहाँ मानवयोनिमें दु:ख और क्लेशकी अधिकता ही दृष्टिगोचर होती है
bahuduḥkhaparivleśaṃ mānuṣyam iha dṛśyate |
இங்கே மனித வாழ்வு பல துயரங்களும் துன்பங்களும் சூழ்ந்ததாகத் தெளிவாகக் காணப்படுகிறது. உலகில் இத்தகைய புரட்டான ஒழுங்கு அடிக்கடி வெளிப்படும்—அறிவிலிகள், மயக்கத்தில் மூழ்கியோர் இன்புறுகின்றனர்; உண்மையான ஞானிகளும் உயர்ந்தோரும் துன்பம் அனுபவிக்கின்றனர். ஆகவே மனிதப் பிறவியில் துயரும் சிரமமும் மேலோங்கியே தோன்றுகின்றன.
