न कन्यां याचते कक्षिन्नापि कन्या प्रदीयते । स्वयंग्राहा भविष्यन्ति युगान्ते समुपस्थिते
na kanyāṃ yācate kaścin nāpi kanyā pradīyate | svayaṃgrāhā bhaviṣyanti yugānte samupasthite ||
அக்காலத்தில் யாரும் மணமகளை வேண்டிச் செல்லமாட்டார்; மணமகளும் முறையாக ‘கொடுக்கப்பட’ மாட்டாள். யுகாந்தம் நெருங்கும்போது இணைவுகள் சுய விருப்பத்தாலும் சுயமாக எடுத்துக்கொள்ளுதலாலும் நிகழும்.
